Physics Virtual Laboratory
Interactive Physics Experiments for Engineering Students
About the Platform
Welcome to the Physics Virtual Laboratory developed by the Physics Laboratory, Department of Basic Science & Humanities, Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM), Salt Lake Campus. This platform enables engineering students to perform realistic virtual physics experiments, promoting conceptual understanding through immersive digital laboratory experiences.
Vision & Objectives
- Interactive Learning: To provide engineering students with a digital hands-on experience of complex physics concepts.
- Accessibility: To allow students to perform, practice, and learn experiments anytime, anywhere without physical constraints.
- Scalability: A robust platform built to seamlessly integrate future experiments and modules.
Technologies Used
This platform was meticulously designed and developed with long-term maintainability in mind, utilizing a robust, dependency-free architecture:
- Semantic HTML5 for accessible structure
- Vanilla CSS3 with CSS Variables for seamless light/dark theming
- ES6 Vanilla JavaScript for modular data and logic
Faculty Mentorship
This Physics Virtual Laboratory has been conceptualized and developed under the academic guidance and mentorship of Dr. Subarna Datta and Prof. Sayan Paul. The objective of this platform is to provide engineering students with an interactive, realistic, and accessible environment for performing physics experiments digitally, thereby enhancing conceptual understanding and laboratory learning.
